Abstract

Employees are considered as key assets for organization if they perform their work with due diligence and show thrive at work. Earlier studies have substantiated that thrive at work improves commitment, satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement. The scholars have identified several reasons such as leadership, personality, rewards system; however, the role of workplace spirituality in relation between servant leadership and thrive at work is limited. Moreover, those organizations who operate in religious orientated societies face the religious dimensions that employee incorporate at their workplace behaviour. In this vein the religiosity as moderator have not been investigated between servant leadership and thrive at work. Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the mediation moderation effect of religiosity and workplace spirituality between servant leadership and thrive at work. Quantitative research with descriptive relational design was opted to test hypotheses. 300 self-administered questionnaire was distributed among teachers at higher education institutes of Quetta-Baluchistan through convenience sample design. Regression analysis and Hayes process model were applied to test hypotheses. Results show that servant leadership improves workplace spirituality and thrives at work. The strength of the relationship between servant leadership and thriving at work improves when workplace spirituality works as a mediator. Thrive at work is significantly different between low religious and high religious employees. The interaction of high religion with servant leadership significantly improved thrive at work. Thereby organizations need to incorporate servant leadership practices and encourage to follow the workplace spirituality to attain thrive at work
